Description
The dog car seat belt that absorbs sudden stops
An unsecured dog in a car is a distraction at best and a projectile at worst. A rigid tether is better than nothing but transfers the full force of a sudden stop directly to whatever the clip is attached to. The bungee section on these belts absorbs that jolt — it stretches rather than snapping taut, which is easier on your dog’s harness and on them.
The 316 stainless steel clip is worth noting. Most budget seat belts use zinc alloy clips that corrode in coastal air and can fail under load. Stainless holds.
What’s in the pack
- 2 adjustable seat belts. One for each dog, or keep the second as a spare. Length adjusts to suit your seat and your dog’s size.
- Headrest attachment. Loops around the headrest post for a secure anchor point without modifying the car.
- Reflective stitching. Visible in headlights at night — useful if you walk your dog from the car in low light.
Compliance note
Australian Road Rule 297 requires drivers to have proper control of the vehicle at all times. An unrestrained dog in the cabin can breach this in every state and territory. These belts should be used with a dog harness — do not clip directly to a collar.
